EU referendum result creates buying opportunities

We’ve all heard about the shocking ‘Brexit’ vote that rocked the UK on June 24. Whilst UK citizens aren’t enjoying a yo-yoing stock market and the value of the pound being lower than it was last year, there is a silver lining for people planning on travelling to the UK.

The dip in the exchange rate has created the perfect opportunity for agents to make UK purchases as you get more £GBP for your $USD and €EUR. Although most agents and students would have preferred an alternative outcome to the EU Referendum, the ‘Brexit’ vote has created the unique opportunity for European and International people to capitalise on a weaker pound.

So how does the exchange rate compare to last year?

There’s a stark difference in the exchange rate when you look at year-on-year data. We took the currencies of some of our bigger markets and analysed the variations.

So what does this mean?

For agents in the above countries, the difference in the exchange rate means that your currency is now more valuable. Based on this rate, your yen, euros and dollars etc will go a lot further in the UK today than they would have done last year.

Why does a weaker pound mean that it’s better for me to spend?

A weaker pound means that UK purchases have actually become cheaper. When thinking about the cost of education and training opportunities, the price of a course today would cost less than it would have done last year when you are converting your national currency to pounds. Below is a comparision of the price of Twin programmes using the exchange rate from 2015 and 2016.
